As the operator of a retail cell phone operation, you are in the best position to recognize the value of having skills in cellular repair. You've probably noticed that, until recently, cell phones were easily discarded when they became physically damaged, and people simply bought new replacement devices. In today's market, however, due to the high price of cell phones and the recent Smartphone phenomenom flooding both corporate and consumer markets, people and businesses have limited options when their complicated, expensive devices become physically damaged.

And, as you know, wireless carriers aren't interested in servicing or repairing cellular devices such as Smartphones and instead, seem more focused on extending or signing up customers for a new 2-year contract, and consumers are left with a fragile phone that's unlikely to survive the typical 2-year contract. Cell phone retailers who are trained in cellular repair, however, can service and repair consumer phones that are no longer under warranty and not insured through their carriers, thus, saving consumers from having to replace their expensive phones'

There is a training program for retail operators who want to learn a skill essential to an industry that will only expand. You don't need to have a technical background, just the desire to learn a new skill that will help boost your revenue and expand the services you offer to your customers.

Keep in mind that this specialized training does not limit you to servicing phones from your wireless carriers-you have the option to repair any phone from any carrier. Due to the high cost of cell phones out in the market today, and to help increase your bottom line in this down economy, this is the right time to start thinking about adding cell phone repair service for your business.

A PDA cell phone or Smartphone offers ease of use and powerful features and capabilities for the business, or casual consumer. The PC-like functionality of PDA phones enables users to access and create email, documents, and the Internet all in one compact device. This past year has seen an explosion of innovative Smartphones from various manufactures, with distinct capabilities and operating platforms.

HTC launched a new Windows Mobile Smartphone, the HD2, which is a successor to the original HTC Touch HD. This phone features one of the largest PDA screens, measuring 4.3 inches. It is also the first Windows phone to implement a capacitive touch screen, similar to the iPhone display, which is used for fingertip control. The HD2 boasts a 5.0 megapixel camera with flash, a GPS receiver, and a standard 3.5mm headset jack.

BlackBerry also provided an update to their existing product line, updating the Bold 9000 to the new Bold2. This phone features better wireless access than the current BlackBerry, with better utilization of 3G coverage. The Bold2 switches out the familiar trackball with a Trackpad, which should be more responsive and sturdier. Like other BlackBerry phones, the Bold2 provides reliable and powerful messaging capabilities and boasts a vibrant color display.

The Samsung Moment is the company's first Android device. The Android operating system runs on an 800 MHz processor, which makes the Moment impressively responsive. Some highlights of the phone are the exceptional call quality and gorgeous color display. For users who are invested in Google applications, the Moment allows for quick access to their Google calendar, email, and contacts.

Nokia presented a new phone, the Nokia N900, which is the first device to run Maemo, a Linux based operating system. The phone is noted for its smooth animations, easy setup, and crisp screen fonts. Another exceptional feature is the keyboard which is user friendly and less cramped than previous Nokia Smartphones.

The Motorola Droid is another cell phone which is based on the Android OS and sets the standard for other phones which utilize this operating system. The Droid is the thinnest phone with a QWERTY keyboard and the display is comparatively large at 3.7 inches. The design is markedly different from other PDAs and has an attractive angular feel. The mobile office applications are stable and highly functional, which allows users to work on files on the go. Also, the phone works well with multiple applications open at once, which is a huge benefit to heavy PDA users.

PDA cell phones are gaining more and more attention in the mobile market. Even casual cell phone users are purchasing Smartphones to help organize their busy personal and business lives.

Cell phones have come a long way since the early days of the 1980s when they were the size of a brick and weighed almost as much. Today, cellular phones come with built-in cameras, polyphonic ringtones, and high-tech games. New "3G" mobile phones are also capable of downloading full motion video and full spectrum music. Whereas there were only a few manufacturers of cell phones in the 1980s, today there are many. In addition to original manufacturers such as Motorola and Siemens, today phones are manufactured by Sony-Ericsson, LG, Toshiba, Samsung, Hitachi, Danger, Palm, HP and others.

As wireless cell phone use increases around the globe, the old CDMA and TDMA standards are being replaced with GSM, the global standard outside of North America. Relatively new mobile phone companies such as Vodafone and T-Mobile in Germany and NTT DoCoMo in Japan have taken advantage of increased cell phone use by expanding their mobile phone offerings and plans world-wide. Also, traditional computer companies are moving or have moved into the cell phone industry--PalmOne manufactures the Treo 650, HP is coming out with its own smartphone PDA and Microsoft powers the operating systems of many of the newest cell phones on the market.

In addition to being used as a method of wireless voice communication, cell phones have within the last decade morphed into mobile computing platforms. These new cell phones are powerful enough to power many applications that only a few years ago required one to be stationed at a desktop computer.

Concurrent with technological innovation and increased adoption worldwide, prices for both hardware and service plans have dropped steadily over the last decade. Whereas only a few years ago most cell phone service providers required 3 year contracts with heavy penalties for early cancellation, now one can get a free state-of-the-art phone with only a one year contract.

Beyond the cell phone hardware, whole new industries have sprung up catering to the needs of cell phone users who demand accessories such as cell phone covers, screen-savers, and ring tones. As well, SMS (simple messenging system) and MMS (multimedia messenging system) lingo is slowly entering the cell phone society vernacular. Use of shorthand abbreviations such as LOL (laughing out loud), SWAK (sealed with a kiss) and G2G (got to go) has become second nature to teenagers who are the main users of phone messenging globally.

Already known for setting a high benchmark in terms of cell phone style and functionality, Motorola appears to be upping the ante even further this summer. Motorola has unveiled three new devices, each with its own particular focus, for release later this year: the style-minded RAZR2, the message-centric MOTO Q 9, and the Motorola Z8, geared towards mobile entertainment and multimedia. Here's a closer look at these three new Motorola cell phones.

The RAZR2
Like its predecessor the RAZR, The RAZR2's main selling point is style, and lots of it. Measuring in at two millimeters thinner than the already iconically thin RAZR, the RAZR2 also promises increased durability and aesthetic appeal with the addition of stainless-steel materials, a soft-touch back, and the glossy finish the RAZR is generally famous for.

To complement its sleek new look, the RAZR2 also aims for an improved user experience. The RAZR2 sports a host of new features, including a revamped user interface for easier contact searching, a huge external display (2" external, 2.2" internal), real-time point-to-point video that allows other wireless customers to "See What I See," and the ability to quickly send pre-programmed messages with the cell phone closed. The RAZR2's impressive multimedia features include Windows Media Player 11, integrated Bluetooth, and a 2.0 megapixel camera with an auto-snap feature for taking up to eight pictures at one time and choosing the best of the lot.

With all these features in a sleek, glossy RAZR package, the RAZR2 looks to be the new show-off cell phone for the summer. The RAZR2 is expected to roll out in July.

The MOTO Q 9: Unbeatable Smartphone Messaging
Where the RAZR2 focuses mostly on chic, Motorola's new MOTO Q 9 concentrates on powerful messaging and communications features, with an eye towards mobile enterprise as well as the casual cell phone user. Although it's expressly built for superior communications, the MOTO Q 9 smartphone is nonetheless still stylish, with a slim profile and instantly recognizable Motorola design.

Like the RAZR2, the MOTO Q 9 seeks to improve on the user interface of previous smartphones, featuring a built-in QWERTY keyboard designed for optimum messaging speed. The MOTO Q 9 can handle up to eight different messaging and email inboxes (including Hotmail, AOL, Gmail, Yahoo or third-party POP email), as well as SMS and MMS messages, Web applications, and a variety of enterprise software applications. Like the other cell phones in Motorola's summer lineup, the MOTO 9 Q also promises better call clarity with Motorola's CrystalTalk technology, ensuring that the MOTO 9 Q's other features don't eclipse its usefulness as a cell phone.

While its main focus lies in powerful communications features, the MOTO Q 9 still has plenty to offer in terms of multimedia. The MOTO Q 9 features a 2.0 megapixel camera with 15 FPS video capture, built-in Bluetooth, and 256 MB of onboard memory (expandable to 2 GB), making it an incredibly full-featured smartphone. Another attractive new feature is Motorola's "adaptive display technology," a series of light sensors on the smartphone which adjust the MOTO Q 9's screen and keyboard brightness depending on ambient light levels, increasing readability and saving battery life.

The MOTO Q 9 is expected to be out in European markets anytime now, and should be available Stateside in the coming months.

The MOTO Z8: Mobile Gaming on the Go
In sharp contrast to the business-minded MOTO Q 9, Motorola's flashy MOTO Z8 aims to tap into the ever-expanding mobile entertainment market with an impressive suite of multimedia, gaming, and video features. The MOTO Z8 is simply packed with multimedia, with a bigger entertainment package than any other smartphone currently on the market.

Described as a "media monster," the MOTO Z8 is expressly built for entertainment, with a unique "kick-slider" design and an impressive color display that presents video in either portrait or landscape mode. The MOTO Z8 also sports ultra-fast 3.6 Mbps music downloads and a whopping 32 GB of optional expanded memory -- enough to hold twelve full-length movies or seventy hours of music. To show off the entertainment horsepower of the MOTO Z8, Motorola will ship the smartphone with a full-length feature film (The Bourne Identity) already preloaded, along with a ROKR S9 stereo Bluetooth 11 headset.

In addition to the other standard smartphone features (Bluetooth, media player, digital camera), the MOTO Z8 will also incorporate mobile TV access from CNN, BSkyB, and Podcast.com. The MOTO Z8 will also ship with a mobile demo copy of EA's SSX3, with the promise for more high-powered gaming to come by the time the Z8 is available in the States.

The MOTO Z8 will be out in Europe and Asia this coming June.

We test a variety of electronic products in our test center and our cell phone review team is the busiest. This is because phone market is the busier as compared to other gadgets. Lots of cell phones are coming in market; some are master pieces while some are disaster pieces. When we write cell phone reviews we look for the following factors.

The display of a cell phone is the first thing that you are bound to look at in a phone. If the phone is high end, we need a big resolution because it gives you lot of real estate to work on. Phones mostly uses LCDs for screen but some high end devices have now started to use AMOLEDs and OLED displays. This technology gives you better quality but they also come at a premium.

Not all phones have keypads. Smartphones are dumping this to have a bigger screen. Some smartphones have a slide out QWERTY keyboards. If the phone has a slider interface we look for smooth movement at the joints. The keyboards must be spacey and should give good typing experience. The buttons should also be elevated above the surface which makes typing easier.

Music player is very important in a cell phone. People look for good music player in a phone because they don't want to carry a separate PMP. Service providers also offer a variety of services for music purchase. When we write cell phone reviews we check if the music quality is good. We also look for features like playlist creation on-the-fly and repeat and shuffle modes. Finally a high end smartphone must have a 3.5 mm jack which lets us plug in any standard headphones.

If you are a shutter bug freak on a stiff budget, you are likely to purchase a smartphone with good camera. 2 MP cameras are outdated; we think manufacturers should put in 5 MP or atleast 3.2 MP cameras on their products. In our reviews we also give additional points if the camera is equipped with mirror and flash.

The cost of the phone must do justice to the features. When people read our reviews they will probably check the cost first. If the handset doesn't have good features or if the features don't perform well (for example - a 5 MP camera might give poor photos) then a high price will turn off potential customers. Also if the price is low and the features are good, then we strongly recommend the phone to our readers.

This might depend on the type of the phone. If it has inbuilt GPS, it must perform well, if it is a business smartphone, the messaging features must be top notch. While writing reviews, we also check if there are any games to play during leisure. Finally the battery life must be good. We seldom find a phone with poor battery life but we always perform battery tests.

Evan Thompson enjoys his writing about gadgets. He gives cell Phone Reviews to consumers for purchasing a Cell phone. His reviews about GSM cell phones, cell phone accessories, cheap mobile phones and latest mobile phones of 2010 are very helpful for consumers need more information visit http://www.gsmcellulars.com.

You are on the go, you have schedules and lunches and brunches and dinners to keep tab of and you need a portable way to keep all of your information organized in one place. Regular cell phones are too simple to hold all of that information in, and the days of the paper day planner are gone. So how do you keep yourself from being loaded down with a bunch of technology when you need a specific device to do some specific things?

By purchasing a PDA cell phone. A Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) is exactly what you have been looking for to handle all of your scheduling, organizing, note taking and note recording needs. But how do you choose which device will be best for you?

Smartphones come in a variety of different packages with even more features to choose from. One of the most important features that your PDA cell device should have is compatibility with other devices and computers. This will make the difference between whether your device is truly a convenience in your life or not.

For example, there are PDA smartphones that are Mac compatible and there are devices that are Windows compatible, and if you know anything about these different computers, one is usually not compatible with the other. If your office at work is full of Mac computers and you need to put information on your Windows based device, then you are in trouble, so be sure that your device is compatible with other electronics that you typically use.

Once you have worked out your compatibility issue, be sure that the programs that you rely on can actually be loaded onto your PDA cell phone. Some applications simply have not been made yet for these devices, and you have to be prepared for those applications not being available.

Many times, you can find other applications that are comparable to the program that you really need, if you are in a bind, but the best thing to do is to make sure that your new PDA cell phone accommodates that need before you purchase it. Write a list of applications that you need your new device to have as top priority, and once you find everything you have been looking for in this device you can breathe a breath of fresh air.

These are all of the top tips on choosing the best cell device for your needs. Do not forget to write your list of needed applications. Determine what kind of compatibility you are looking for, and what kind of features will be most productive in helping you to organize your work.

Since the release of Simon by IBM in 1992, the term "mobile phone" has been redefined. It was no longer just a portable telephone as is its literal definition. It has now become more than just a gadget for calling and sending text messages; you can now perform virtually anything you may with a personal computer-which has given rise to the term "smartphone"-without your behind having to be stuck on a swivel chair. You can view the calendar and add memoranda like anniversaries, birthdays, or meetings on certain dates without having to write shorthand because of limited grid space; you can record songs, play music, and take photos when with friends or family at a party; or, you can browse the Internet and check your email, update your Facebook status and tweet your followers. And how about when you're all alone, maybe waiting in a queue for a dentist appointment, and you got bored? Why, you can play cell phone games, of course.

The first ever game on the phone was Snake which came pre-installed on several Nokia units in 1997. Some variants of the game followed, becoming more detailed in graphics and more challenging. By the time its colored successor came, other cell phone games have spawned the mobile media market; these games had to be bought already and did not just come pre-installed on phones.

And then the iPhone came. The release of the iPhone in 2007 by American consumer electronics and computer software manufacturer Apple Inc. has revolutionized the way we view smartphones. It raised the bar for all mobile phone applications, including cell phone games. But why not? With its capacitive-sensing touchscreen and 3-axis accelerometer which senses the orientation of the phone and rotates the screen accordingly, you can have more fun with the additional functions you can perform on a certain game. For instance, with Tapulous' Tap Tap Revenge which is much like the 1998 Konami-introduced craze, Dance Dance Revolution, you not only need to tap the colored balls that fall to the line at the bottom of the screen; you also need to move the iPhone to certain directions to gain points.

Sure, all that requires more genius and more effort from the geeky creators and developers of these cell phone games, but all that sprang up from what Steve Jobs started with his brainchild, the iPhone. And as was his intent when he thought of the idea, these applications serve to allow us more variety in the things we can do on the iPhone and the games we could enjoy, too.

Cell phones, which have been in the forefront of every cutting-edge wireless breakthrough, will witness further enhancements in terms of technology and design in 2010 and beyond. The most special feature, slotted to be added by Infosys, is a 3D hologram. Furthermore, traffic maps to show the speed at which a vehicle is traveling are also expected to be included. Sony Ericsson has been working with RFID to integrate it with cell phones that can then be used as a car or home key.

Innovations in Cell Phones in 2010
An Australian firm, aiming to cut down credit card fraud, has been reviewing cell phones that would provide the name of the location where the credit card has been used. Some of the other innovations that seem to be around the corner are:

Super fast charge - Great strides have been made to ensure that the handset battery lasts for a few hours. Now, utilizing lithium-ion technology, the charge time is likely to be reduced to a few seconds.

Morphing - The future looks bright for those with unsteady fingers, given the anticipated launch of NEC tag phones. A rubber-like 'shape-memorizing' material, the NEC tag, affords flexibility. Users can roll it into a ball or fold it like a wallet. Nokia is working upon nanotechnology products to build a Morph phone that can be bent or twisted into different shapes and use the nearly invisible technology so that the user can literally see through the phones.

Credit use - Using cell phones as a payment method has been in trial for two years now. The idea is to use cell phones as a quick pass credit card that would require swiping. The user simply needs to bring it in close proximity to a sensor. The phone, when linked to a bank account, gets charged and the two way communication offers added security.

Point to find - This technology would enable one's phone to become so smart that by simply pointing it towards a building, it would be capable of determining the structure and provide relevant information. In shops, the RFID tags will scan products to find the price, the items from which it has been manufactured, the number of calories and everything else that the user may want to know.

Smartphones are all set to become the norm in 2010. It is quite common to see an average person in a first world country owning a smartphone. The year 2010 will definitely see a further surge in the popularity of such phones.

The upper level of smartphones is mainly divided between models of cellular phones with QWERTY keyboard and the touch screen phones. The main difference being that the QWERTY cell phone has a full QWERTY keyboard integrated into its main panel or concealed under a sliding panel. Touch-screen phones typically do not have the manual buttons or keys, and all functions are controlled by touch screen by pressing relevant active points. Some touch screen models have a navigation pod or several function keys. Apple iPhone is a typical example of a touch screen phone and BlackBerry is one of the most popular QWERTY cell phones. Sometimes BlackBerry is even used as a synonim for qwerty cell phones, however, it is not the first of its kind and not the only one.

Although the touch screen phones tend to be elegantly designed, they are quite awkward when you need to enter large chunks of data, participate in instant messaging or write a string of SMS messages. Never mind how stylish is a touch screen phone, it will unlikely be a serious business gadget. Writing e-mails, edit Word documents or Excel spreadsheets, sorting out the PowerPoint presentations - it is something that should be done easily with any modern smartphone. Can you do that without controls, i.e. buttons?

QWERTY mobile phone models like Pantech, HTC and Palm W class are running Windows Mobile OS. For PC Windows users it means a familiar environment and easy operation. Besides that, mobile phones on Windows are born to view and edit office documents, manage calendar and tasks, provide better e-mail and web browsing capabilities. They are also less prone to crashing.

Now a word about entertainment. It is good to get the job done but how about the leisure? MP3, video player and an enhanced digital camera are all necessary features that should be included in any basic smartphone. Both QWERTY cell phones and touch screen phones have these features on board unless we are talking about some older models.

So, where are the advantages of the iPhone and other touch screen phones? There are certain characteristics where the iPhone is still unsurpassed. These are memory volume and battery longevity. All iPhones are sold with 8 GB or 16 GB of memory, depending on the model specifications. All the major QWERTY cell phones are still lagging back with mere 128 MB of internal memory and the possibility of expanding the memory through MicroSD card slots. The buyer then has a challenge to find a suitable MicroSD card in an electronics shop. Speaking about the battery - iPhone has 5 hours talk or 6 hours Wi-Fi web browser time. You can leave it for 300 hours in standby mode. QWERTY cell phone models cannot offer such a long battery life.

In principle, when you think about selecting your perfect smartphone you will probably make your choice depending on your own style, taste and needs. You have to choose a mobile phone that will deliver all the essential elements of business operation and recreational opportunities. QWERTY mobile phone models typically offer enhanced business features, but many people believe that the small buttons on the keyboard are not suitable for their large thumbs. Now, that's a somewhat exaggeration, folks! To make sure QWERTY cell phone is for you, buy it in a mobile phone shop, where you can test-drive several models. You need to hold it in the palm of your hand and feel the keypad buttons in order to verify if QWERTY cell phone suits your life-style.

The history of the cell phone has seen an evolution from simple communication devices to the smartphones that are prevalent today. With these more advanced cousins of the original cell phone, internet capabilities such as text messaging and web browsing, audio and video playback, and the ability to sync up with a PC have been added to their work load. For busy consumers who want to increase their connectivity and productivity, a smartphone is an excellent option to provide the access and tools that are needed.

Once the decision is made to move up to a smartphone however, purchasing a web enabled cell phone is only the first step in the process of getting started. Cell phones operate in conjunction with a voice plan from a cellular provider; when using such a device for internet related functions, the user must have a data plan to make the appropriate connection.

When considering a data plan for a cell phone there are a number of details to consider:

o What functions will be used?
Users need to carefully consider what functions they will be needing. Some data plans allow e-mail functions only, providing the benefit of a lower monthly cost. Other plans allow users to send and receive e-mail via their cell phone, access the internet, download games, music, video, sync with their PC to access various software applications, and perform a variety of other functions.

Users also want to be sure they know what web access they will be allowed via their data plan. Some plans allow access to selected sites only while others provide unlimited access. Some data plans allow internet access via cell phone but not on a laptop when tethered to a cell phone acting as a modem. The data plan will need to match up with how the individual wishes to use the service.

o Is the coverage sufficient?
Just as with a voice plan, users should check to assure that the coverage through the data plan will be sufficient for their location and in other locations where they will commonly need to access the service through their cell phone. In some instances, the quality or speed of the connection can vary from location to location.

o What is the cost of the data service plan?
Cell phone owners are charged a monthly fee for their data plan. Users pay for data plans through either the amount of data used or the time spent on the service. Data use fees may be based on a predetermined amount of data transmitted and received over the course of a month or may be "unlimited".

Plans which charge a set fee for a prescribed amount of data transfer may be economical if use of the service is very limited and consists primarily of e-mails and text documents. However, in many instances, unlimited plans that set no limit on the number of megabytes used in a month are often a safer option. As an example, a plan with limited data transfer may allow 5MB per month but receiving a single MP3 music file could consume 3-4MB alone. Just as with voice plans, it is expensive to exceed the data plan limits; average $.06 per kilobyte.

As mentioned above, rather than charging for the amount of data transfer, some cellular providers draw from voice plan minutes to cover time spent on the web. Individual users would need to carefully assess whether or not the consumption of additional voice time would be the best option for them.

As cell phones have matured into the smartphones of today, millions of busy, time limited people are finding them increasingly indispensable. However, new users will need to learn the details of the various data plans to assure that their new web enabled cell phone can meet their expectations.

Christine Peppler believes that consumers should not have to possess a technology degree to be able to use or select cell phone or related products. Take advantage of the wealth of simple to understand, useful information and shopping available on her website at http://www.homemedias.info.

So, a friend of yours is sporting a brand new cell phone packed with more features than you can shake a stick at. The thing looks like it just fell out of a flying saucer, or something. In fact, it's quite possibly the coolest cell phone you've ever seen. You want one just like it, or better yet, a cooler one, but you don't have that kind of dough. So, what's one to do? Instead of listing a bunch of phones that are in my opinion, "cool", I'm going to show you where to look, what to look for, and how to get it for very little, or no money.

Best Place to Find Deals on Cell Phones
Here's a little factoid for you. There are only three authorized retailers of cellular phones and wireless plans in the United States. I know what you're thinking. There are thousands of cellular retail websites online. True enough, but only three authorized retailers, which are the fulfillment centers for every other U.S. based cellular site online, so that cuts your places to look to three. Amazon.com, Wirefly, and Let'sTalk.

You could also go directly to a carrier website like AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-mobile or others, but if you want to save some money on a new cell phone you're better off to stick with one of the retailers mentioned, because they deal in bulk. You can still choose from any wireless carrier that services your area, it's just that by going through a retailer instead of directly through the carrier you'll have a much larger selection of wireless devices, plus be able to compare phones and plans from multiple providers.

Coolest Cell Phone Features
It's best to get into a little cell phone terminology here, because getting the right kind of cell phone is going to make a difference in features available on that phone, so here is a list of a few common types of wireless devices, and short descriptions.

PDA Phones - The term PDA is an abbreviation for Personal Digital Assistant, and is used for mobile organization like phone book, calendar, daily tasks, and can be synchronized with a PC. They sometimes come with a stylus, and may require a mobile data plan.

Smart Phones - For all intents and purposes a Smart Phone or smartphone is a PDA with cell phone capabilities, and can work very much like a small computer. In the early days many PDAs did not make it possible for one to make phone calls (though most do now).

Netbooks - These are not phones at all. They're mini laptops, but some wireless carriers, and retailers make them available for use with modern mobile data networks.

Multimedia Phones - Just a cell phone, but may be able to take pictures, video or play music files like MP3.
There are a lot of other terms that can be, and are used to describe different types of cellular phones. Texting phones, data phones, qwerty phones, just to name a few. The list above is a pretty good outline of different cell phone types without writing a book about the subject. If you want a phone with a good all around set of features, a smartphone is the way to go. If you're just looking for features on a case by case basis, here are a few of the most popular.

Data Plans - These can be a bit tricky, since nearly all wireless phones today allow you to access the Internet, but if you want broadband speeds you'll need a mobile data plan, and a phone that supports modern 3G (third generation) networks and higher. Most likely a PDA or smartphone.

QWERTY Keyboard - The term "QWERTY" comes from the fact those are the first six letters on a standard English keyboard (take a look). Non PDA and smartphone phones with qwerty keyboards are ofter referred to as texting phones.

Mobile Web Browsers - Almost all phones now have some sort of mobile browser so you can surf the Internet from your cell phone, but they're not all created equal. BlackBerry has an excellent full web browser built in, as does Apple's iPhone which comes with Safari. You can always download third party mobile browsers, but you'll need a phone that will support it.

Bluetooth - This is a must have for any cell phone worth having. In short, Blutooth makes it possible for your cell phone to communicate wirelessly with other devices that have, or support it. Common applications are, hands free driving, and wireless synchronization.

Web Applications - Some phones come with software you might normally find on your computer, like email clients, messengers, calendars, or productivity suites like Documents to go, or Windows Mobile. There are also lots of other third party apps you can download. BlackBerry and iPhone have very popular app stores with a wide selection of mobile apps made for those phones.

Cameras - If you want good pictures and video from your phone, try to steer clear of VGA, QVGA or cameras with interpolated resolution. You'll want a camera with about 3 megapixel or better for nice looking pictures and video. Generally speaking, the more megapixels the better.

Touch Screens - This is still a fairly new technology. Some touch screen phones have very few buttons on the phone itself, since most tasks, including typing and dialing are done directly on the screen. A couple good examples are the BlackBerry Storm, and iPhone.
There are dozens of other features that could be discussed here, but the idea is just to outline some of the cooler features to look for, and some short explanations and examples. A cell phone with all, or most of the features listed here is going to be a really nice phone.
Cheapest Cell Phones
So how do you get one of these really cool phones without breaking the bank? By going through an authorized retailer, of course. As mentioned earlier there are only three in the U.S. you need to be concerned with. Some phones could be free or highly discounted with a service agreement of between one to two years. If you don't like contracts, I don't know what to tell you. It's that, or pay out of pocket. If you choose the later, you could still get a good deal by going through one of the big three retailers. Since they sell these phones in bulk, they are generally cheaper than what you would find in a physical store, or direct from the carrier.

The Omnia i900 is a neat Samsung 3G smartphone but has a few drawbacks like text messaging that takes up a lot of time and at times can be inefficient, and loading and using some applications tend to be sluggish. Apart from these, the Samsung Omnia i900 is a great phone to have and is recommendable to people who are not in a hurry to browse through applications, surf the Web or send SMS messages.

This is a highly recommended phone for both the average consumer and the business professional alike. You can't go wrong with any of the Samsung cell phones.

If you're considering purchasing a Samsung 3G phone, take a look at their entire line of phones. You'll find some great deals on 3G smartphones.

An unlocked cell phone is a cell phone that can be used with any GSM compatible carrier worldwide, as long as you are in possession of a SIM card provided by a carrier.

There are a few ways to get your hands on an unlocked cell phone:

Using unlocking codes found over the internet. Every phone could be locked by using certain software codes or being hard coded with specific propriety settings. It is possible to undo these changes on some of these devices, but amateur unlocking may not be complete. In some cases, trying to unlock the phone using the wrong code may even damage the device.

Unlocking the phone in a store or by a technician. This is pretty much the same as using the codes yourself, only that technicians have more knowledge and experience with these procedures. This method should work fine with some phones, but others may still have some settings which cannot be undone, so it's 100% foolproof.

Buying it unlocked. It is possible to purchase cell phones in their original factory-made state, before the device has been altered. This way you can be sure that the phone would work with any GSM carrier around the world.

It doesn't matter which brand you are looking for, be it unlocked Blackberry Smartphones, unlocked LG cell-phones, unlocked HTC devices or a coveted iPhone that works under any GSM carrier, nowadays it's easy to find cell phones from any manufacturer to suit your tastes and needs without having to commit to a specific service provider.

Would you like to find out more about unlocked Blackberry Smartphones, unlocked LG cell-phones, unlocked HTC? Visit http://www.berryaccessories.com/ for more information about the subject.

Google Android plans to expand its platform by launching five new devices in 1H 2010, including handsets from Motorola, Dell and HTC. An open source interface, Android was released almost a year ago with expectations that it would revolutionize the smartphone market. A survey conducted at the close of 2009 demonstrated that Android was indeed roiling the market, Motorola's Droid smartphone being the biggest beneficiary.

Android: Open Handset Alliance
Android, enmeshing Internet-style innovation and openness to cell phones, delivers a complete software set for cellular devices, including

1. An operating system

2. Middleware

3. Key mobile applications

Android has been built on the openLinux Kernel to help developers generate compelling mobile applications that takes maximum advantage of the handsets. It uses a custom virtual apparatus, which is designed to increase memory and hardware resources. Being open source, Android can be liberally diversified to incorporate the latest technologies as and when they emerge. This platform will continue evolving as the community of developers constructs innovative mobile applications.

Android does not discriminate between a cell's core and third-party applications. All applications can be built to have the same access to a device's potential, offering users a wide range of applications and services. Users of devices constructed on the Android can customize their phones - they can change the phone's homescreen, dialer style or even instruct the phone to utilize its preferred photo viewing application.

Motorola Droid Review
Change Wave Research believes that the Motorola Droid is the greatest Android phone till date and the biggest competitor for the iPhone. With sharp edges and angular looks, this cell phone line proves its difference from other smartphones, most of which are rounded and sleek. Motorola Droid has a 3.7 inch screen with a resolution of 440?854 pixels.

A high-end, solidly-built cell phone, the Droid is thinner than most of its QWERTY slider counterparts. The keypad has flat keys, which are larger than most others, and therefore more comfortable. The Droid also utilizes a micro-USB to charge. The device has a 3.5mm audio connector at the top and a 5MPx camera, along with a dual LED flash behind. A rear speaker that proves handy during games and for the conferencing mode is situated beside the battery compartment. A shutter button for the camera provides greater stability than screen tapping or trackball pressing. The best part about the cell is its web browsing capacities. The Motorola Droid also offers good email support.
